Industrial camera housing made easy

Background

Machine vision is crucial for automation, requiring cameras that can withstand harsh industrial environments. While the cameras themselves are expensive, production line downtime from damaged cameras is even costlier. Existing camera housings provide inadequate protection and are installation-unfriendly. IP Elements offers affordable, durable, and user-friendly camera housing solutions.

They approached me to create an identity and website that challenges the industry but doesn't alienate large distributors

Getting to know 'machine vision'

Before this project, I knew nothing about the industry; I spent a great deal of time jamming with the founders to grasp the industrial use cases and how their product integrates with automation cameras. I drew a number of product characteristics and injected them into the look and feel of the brand.

Fun but firm

Clients depend on these housings. Not only is the camera inside expensive, but the associated downtime in a manufacturing plant with a non-functional camera is critical. As a new player in the market, I wanted the identity to have character while also exuding strength and trust.

Clever, but not too clever

Most of the competitor sites were dull as dishwater. I invested in developing content and interactions that would really show off the product features while still allowing for smooth browsing through all the technical data.

Key growth partnerships

In addition to having a couple of delighted founders with a strong brand identity and digital storefront, they successfully established key partnerships with major manufacturers and distributors such as Basler, OEM Automatic, Soda Vision, and Multipix Imaging.
